We have a new position available at our Inland Way facility as follows:
Position: Maintenance Supervisor Edmonton
Start Date: TBD
Salary: To be determined based on qualifications and experience
Reports to: Operations Manager Edmonton or, in his absence, National Operations Manager
Description: We are seeking experienced Maintenance Supervisor to support daily maintenance operations in chemical production environment. This is a working leadership role responsible for coordinating tasks, providing technical guidance, and ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and in support of production requirements.
Primary Duty: Supervise the operations of the Maintenance Department and related building systems and equipment in accordance with policies and procedures. Ensure smooth and safe operation of facility.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Maintenance Staff during daily work activities
- Assign and prioritize maintenance tasks in coordination with Operations
- Perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment
- Support preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance program
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures including LOTO, confined space, and hot work permits
- Assist with plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency repairs
- Provide coaching and on the job training to maintenance staff
- Complete maintenance ticket, reports, and documentation in SharePoint
- Communication between the Operations Manager and Supervisors regarding maintenance activities, including equipment issues, progress, and recommendations
- Coordination with outside trades and contractors as assigned by Operations Manager
- Responsible for installation of new processes under direction of Operation Manager or National Operations Manager
- Operate within standard operating procedures and requirements of ISO and RD systems
- Maintains inventory of spare parts and requests quotes for replenishment
- Prepares reports for project status, PM Recommendation for capital budgets
- Other duties as assigned by Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis
Required Qualifications:
Red Seal Journeyman certification in an applicable maintenance trade as Instrument Tech, Electrician, Millwright or Pipefitter
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience and minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience is required
- Proven decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Organizational skills and leadership skills
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively in a team environment
- Solid understanding of industrial practices and problem-solving skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a dedication to quality and safety
- Abiding by Company policies and procedures
- Overtime/weekend work as needed based on maintenance and new project needs
